Kashmir: Educational institutions closed, IUST, KU postpone exams

Srinagar, May 24 (UNI): All educational institutions were closed as a precautionary measure on Friday in the Kashmir Valley, where clashes erupted on Thursday night after reports about the death of Ansar Gazwatul Hind chief Zakir Musa in an encounter by security forces in Pulwama.

The Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora in Pulwama and Kashmir University (KU) postponed all examinations which were scheduled to be held today.

The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, has ordered closure of all educational institutions, including schools and colleges, as a precautionary measure today.

Private and government institutions remained closed.
