Kashmir: Four OGWs of Al-Badr arrested in Pulwama

Srinagar/UNI: Four Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Al-Badr militant outfit were arrested in a joint operation by security forces in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, a police spokesman said on Thursday.

Police arrested six OGWs of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) at Tral and Sangam in south Kashmir.

He said Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police, Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and CRPF launched a joint search operation at village Dadsara and Larmoah in the wee hours today.

During the operation, four OGWs were found in highly suspicious circumstances.

Later, during the spot questioning, the OGWs admitted their involvement in supporting militant outfit Al-Badr.

During the searches on their disclosure security forces recovered arms and ammunition besides explosives, including one AK 56 rifle with magazine and 28 rounds of live ammunition and a hand grenade.

The arrested OGWs were identified as Yawar Aziz Dar, Sajad Ahmad Parray, Abid Majeed Sheikh and Showkat Ahmad Dar. An FIR number 195/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.

He said the investigation of the said case is going on, more arrests and recovery is expected in the case.
