Kashmir: Soldier killed in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in Poonch

Jammu/UNI: An Army jawan was killed as Pakistan violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Defence spokesman here on Thursday said that the Pakistan Army resorted to an unprovoked ceasefire violation on the LoC on Wednesday night in Krishna Ghati Sector of District Poonch.

"Own troops responded strongly to the enemy fire but in the incident, Lance Naik Karnail Singh was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries," he said.

The spokesman added that Lance Naik Karnail Singh was a brave, highly motivated and a sincere soldier.
