Kolkata: 600 kg explosive materials recovered

Kolkata, Aug 16 (IBNS): The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal on Sunday recovered at least 600 kg of explosive materials from a transport carrier's godown at Strand Road area in Kolkata, reports said.

Police said the CID has arrested one resident of Odisha - Pankaj-on Friday from Kolkata's Jorabagan area and after interrogating him, the move was made.

DIG of CID Dilip Kumar Adak told IBNS: "After interrogating Pankaj, we conducted raid in the godown and 600 kg explosive materials including Ammonium Nitrate and Sulfur were recovered. We are interrogating Pankaj to know about others involved in this case. We are also investigating to know if there is any terrorist connection in this matter."

The CID has sealed the godown and started investigation into the case.
