Kolkata man orders Communist Manifesto on Amazon, receives Bhagavad Gita instead

Kolkata/IBNS: A man from Kolkata's Garia area was left 'amazed' after US based e-commerce giant Amazon delivered him a 120-page Penguin copy of Bhagavad Gita instead of the Communist Manifesto that he had ordered on the online platform.

Sharing his experience, the man, Sutirtha Das, on Saturday wrote on Facebook: "Last Wednesday (June 10), I ordered a Communist Manifesto book at a discount on Amazon and paid Rs. 140, including book's price (Rs. 90) and delivery charge (Rs. 50), by card in advance."

"After placing the order, I instantly received confirmation text from Amazon where it was promised that the Manifesto would be home-delivered on either Friday (June 12) or Saturday (June 13)," Sutirtha Das wrote.

"The parcel was delivered by Amazon to my home at around 2 pm. on Saturday when I was at office and after returning home in the evening, when I opened the package, I was shocked and surprised— a 120-page English version of Bhagavad Gita has been delivered instead of Communist Manifesto that I had ordered," he added.

The man also posted the screenshots of his order details, and images of the delivered book as well as of the invoice as evidence to his claim.

"I am still confused why the seller delivered Bhagavad Gita and not any other book, in place of the Communist Manifesto," Sutirtha Das wrote of Facebook.

The man said that he wanted the Communist Manifesto which he had ordered on Amazon as he already has a 1200-page Bhagavad Gita besides the copies of the Bible and the Quran in his collection.
