Kolkata, May 9 (IBNS): A 6-year-old boy was killed after being mowed down by a trailer-truck near Kidderpore Fancy Market area in Kolkata on the wee hours of Tuesday, reports said.

According to reports, a dock to city bound speeding truck suddenly lost its control and mowed down at least four persons, including a child and a teenager, after climbing onto pavement at around 2 am.

After being informed, police and rescue operators rushed to the scene and sent four injured to a nearby hospital, where six-year-old Md. Shahid was declared brought dead.

Following the accident, locals blocked a nearby road on Tuesday morning for hours.
