Lashkar chief Abu Dujana killed in Kashmir encounter
Acting on specific intelligence input about the presence of militants in Hakripora village, security forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area, a police official said.
The militants opened fired during the operation, prompting retaliation from the forces, which triggered a gunbattle resulting in the death of Dujana and other two associates, including a young local boy, identified as Arif Lilhaari, who recently joined the group.
Meanwhile, intense clashes between protesters and government forces erupted near and around the encounter site, sources said.
