Lok Sabha adjourned till Monday over ruckus by opposition
New Delhi, Mar 28 (IBNS): The Lok Sabha has been adjourned till Monday as the opposition continued to create ruckus in the lower house on the 18th day in the second phase of the Budget session.
Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House as it was not in order.
The second phase of the budget session, which began on Mar 5, has gone without any activity till Wednesday.
The four no-confidence motions-brought by Telegu Desam Party (TDP), YSR Congress, Congress and CPI-M- are yet to be tabled in the Lok Sabha.
In last few days, both the houses were adjourned for the day within few minutes of its beginning.
The opposition parties like Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS), AIADMK have been protesting for more than a week over a number of issues ranging from the Cauvery river water share to the Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam.
However, both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress said they want the parliament to function.
The no-confidence motion was first brought by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's TDP which had pulled itself from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), that runs the central government, over the demands of the special status for the southern state.
However, the Rajya Sabha functioned on Wednesday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and others bid farewell to the retiring MPs of the Upper House.
