Lok Sabha Polls: Some Delhiites complain of missing voter-slips
New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) Ahead of polling in Delhi for Lok Sabha, some of the voters are complaining that they have not received voter slips which have been distributed by the booth level officer (BLO).
Talking to UNI, Apra, resident of Pratap Bagh, said she and her family have not received voter slip since the date of polling was announced in Delhi.
She said that she contacted RWA president of the area, who told her that many people of the area were facing similar problem.
She said people in her area were in panic mode as the day of polling is approaching.
A student, Ashok, who said his area comes under South Delhi Parliamentary constituency, and he too has not received the voter slip.
Computer operator Hasina, who lives in Ashok Nagar, also had the similar issue of missing voter slip.
A Businessman, Jahangir Khan, from South East Delhi said, he and his entire family.
Before casting their vote, voters must see if their names have appeared in the voters' list, and download the voter slip, which needs to be presented along with a photo identity card at your polling station to vote in the poll. If your name does not figures in the voters' list, the polling booth officials will not allow you to cast your vote. If voters don't receive voter slips, then they should see the poll panel's facility where one can check their name on the electoral roll and download their photo voter slip from the portal nvsp.in. Every voter is required to carry their photo voter slip along with their voter identification card (also known as Electors Photo Identity Card or EPIC or Voter's ID) that is issued by the Election Commission of India (EC) or other approved photo identity proofs.
For seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, the national capital's 1.43 crore electors get ready to cast their votes on Sunday.
Polling for the seven Lok Sabha constituencies - Chandni Chowk, East Delhi, New Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi (SC), South Delhi and West Delhi - will be held from 0700 hours on Sunday and will go on till 1800 hours on over 13,800 polling booths.
The electors -- 7.8 crores male and 6.4 crore women -- in the national capital will decide the fate of 164 candidates in seven Parliamentary constituencies.
