LS polls results will make Modi as PM once again: Himanta Biswa Sarma
Guwahati, Mar 15 (IBNS): Assam Finance Minister and convenor of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said that people across the country want Narendra Modi as a Prime Minister for the second time and this Lok Sabha election will reflect the same.
Addressing a joint conference of BJP and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) after the parties sealed electoral alliance in Guwahati, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, both BJP and AGP are going to the Lok Sabha election together with one agenda to make Modi the Prime Minister again.
“Both BJP and AGP acknowledged the kind of works he (PM Modi) has delivered for the North Eastern region. Three bridges over the river Brahmaputra have been constructed during his tenure which never happened in the history of Assam. We feel that to resolve various issues, aspirations of the people of Assam and to bring development to the North Eastern region, we need Prime Minister Modi as the PM of India second time,” Sarma said.
The NEDA convenor said that it is our common intent.
“We hope that once Narendra Modi will become Prime Minister, he will bring another level of development for the people of North East,” Sarma said.
He further said that, AGP and BJP have already sealed electoral alliance for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election and will fight together along with other partner Bodoland People’s Front (BPF).
“Exact seat sharing formula will be announced tomorrow after a meeting with our national president Amit Shah,” Sarma said.
He said the alliance will give a tough fight in all 14 Lok Sabha seats in Assam and BJP-led NEDA will win most of the seats.
