Bhopal, July 8 (UNI) Independent legislator Surendra Singh – who is extending support to Madhya Pradesh’s ruling Congress – claimed on Monday that he is to be elevated as minister.

“When it comes to accomplishing people’s work, I am actually far ahead of present ministers who are moving about in trepidation,” the MLA averred during an interaction with the press in the Assembly premises.

The 230-strong House has 114 Congress members and 108 owing allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Of the four independents, Mr Pradeep Jaiswal has been granted a Cabinet berth by Chief Minister Kamal Nath. Mr Singh is ceaselessly making a similar demand.
