Madras HC adjourns hearing on MLA disqualification case to November 2

Chennai, Oct 9 (IBNS): The Madras High Court, on Monday, adjourned the hearing in the 18 MLA's disqualification case, according to media reports.

The next hearing will be on November 2 for final arguments.

On Oct 4, the case was adjourned when counsel for a section of the disqualified MLAs sought more time to complete his arguments, media reported.

On Monday, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami's lawyers sought time to file replies to the MLAs' additional affidavits and rejoinders, media reported..

Meanwhile, the interim order restraining the Speaker from holding a floor test in the Assembly and the Election Commission of India from conducting elections to the 18 constituencies, which had fallen vacant following the disqualifications, will continue.
