Maharashtra assembly polls: Aditya Thackeray files nomination from Worli

| @indiablooms | Oct 03, 2019, at 12:33 pm

Mumbai: Becoming the first from his family to contest polls, Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray filed his nomination from Worli for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.

Aditya filed his nomination amid massive show of Shiv Sena's political muscle as he also held a roadshow in Mumbai.

Before filing the nomination, the young leader told reporters, "I am going to build Maharashtra with all the help of all people. Today is a big day. I am going to file the nominations with the blessings of all people."

But the leader remained mum on whether he could become the Chief Minister of the state if Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returns to power.

Presently, BJP's Devendra Fadnavis is the Chief Minister of the state.

The BJP on Tuesday announced the list of 125 candidates who will fight the polls. The Shiv Sena has also announced a list containing names of its 68 candidates.

The polls are scheduled to be held on Oct 21.
