Aurangabad/UNI: Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Sunday said the state government and the administration have geared up to fight Novel Coronavirus.

Speaking at a meeting held at the Divisional Commissioner's Office, Tope said as the number of patients in Aurangabad district in Marathwada region increased, it was necessary to control the pandemic.

This situation needs to be addressed with the help of all systems, said the Minister, adding that Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) kits would be made available to the Health department officials and staff in the existing containment areas of Aurangabad city, for which the required funds would be made available.

Divisional Commissioner Sunil Kendrakar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Chiranjeev Prasad, Collector Uday Chaudhary, Municipal Commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey, Deputy Commissioner Varsha Thakur, Parag Soman, Deputy Director of Health Dr Swapnil Lale, Dean Dr Kanan Yelikar, District Surgeon Dr Sunder Kulkarni, Head of the Department of Medicine in the GMCH Meenakshi Bhattacharya was also present.

The meeting was held in compliance with social distinctions.

The Health Minister further said that further planning needs to be done very carefully to get the situation under control. Every patient needs to be studied in view of the mortality rate in the city and the health system should take precaution to bring it under control, he added.

It is a good thing that it has not spread in the rural areas of the district, said Tope.

In order to reduce the incidence in the city, the curfew should be tightened so that new patients are not added, he suggested.

The help of expert doctors in the city should also be sought for the treatment. The equipment required for the system will be provided by the government soon, he said.

In addition, a large amount of help will be provided from the CSR fund. Municipal Corporation should provide more facilities to the citizens in quarantine places, Tope directed.

The city should have health services for other patients also.

Keep an eye out for clinics, especially in rural areas. He also said that private doctors should also take initiative for this, he added.

Municipal Commissioner Mr Pandey, while giving information about various measures being implemented in the city through power point presentation, said that there are hotspots like Asafia Colony, Aref Colony, Hilal Colony, Kasliwal Tarangan, CIDCO N-4, N-7, Kiradpura, Padmapura in the city.
