Maharashtra: Nashik native CoBRA personnel martyred in IED blast by naxals

Nashik/UNI: Assistant Commandant Nitin Bhalerao of CoBRA 206 battalion of CRPF died on Saturday night in Sukma district of Chhattisgarth.

According to a report reaching here, Nitin Bhalerao is originally from this district. Nashik Collector Suraj Mandhare has interacted with Bhalerao's company commander. The postmortem of Bhalerao's body is currently underway.

After that his body will be brought to Mumbai by air from Raipur and from there it will be brought to Nashik. After that, his relatives will decide, according to which time his funeral will be done by the government, said Mandhare.

On late Saturday night, security forces were searching for Naxals in Tadmetla area and got injured in the spike holes made by the Naxalites.

All the soldiers injured in the IED blast belong to the Cobra 206 Battalion, Sukma's Superintendent of Police K L Dhruv confirmed the attack.

The injured have been airlifted to Raipur for treatment. Assistant Commandant Bhalerao breathed his last before being brought to the hospital.
