Maharashtra: Police detains 65 persons for gambling

Kolhapur, Apr 13 (UNI) Special police squad raided a gambling den in city's Laxmipuri area late last night and seized Rs 12 lakh cash, 19 two-wheelers and 45 mobile sets, valued total Rs 25 lakh and arrested total 65 persons involved in the gambling.

According to police, a tip off was received by district superintendent of police Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, who ordered a special police team led by city DYSP  Prerna Katte, who raided a Surbhi Sports and cultural Mandal in Laxmipuri area late last night and seized Rs 12 lakh cash and total 19 two-wheelers total valued Rs 25 lakh and arrested 65 persons, who were engaged in gambling.

The police have booked the culprits under section 4 and 5 and further probe is on.
