The state has lost 97 human lives in total as a result of the global pandemic.

With 229 more people testing positive, the total number of coronavirus cases in the state reached 1,364.

The State is also considering an extension of the lockdown beyond April 14 to combat the spread of the Coronavirus.

The final decision in this matter would be taken after the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with state chief ministers on Saturday.

Odisha has already extended the lockdown till April 30 and West Bengal too is considering similar decision owing to the continuous increase in the number of cases.

In Mumbai, the worst affected areas include Worli and Prabhadevi. Dharavi, which the largest slum in Asia with a population of 8 lakhs, has 13 COVID-19 positive patients.

Mumbai at present has 381 containment areas where strict curfew measures are being implemented.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, in his address to the state on Wednesday, told citizens to be prepared to stay at home for a longer time taking instances from Singapore and China's Wuhan which had extended lockdown to contain the spread of the highly contagious virus.
