Man rapes 17-year-old niece

Moga, Jun 6 (UNI): A man has been arrested for raping his 17-year-old niece when she was alone at home in Karyal village of Dharamkot sub division of the district.

According to the survivor, her uncle came home when she was alone on Wednesday and asked for a glass of water. When she went into the kitchen, her uncle followed her and forced himself on her. He also threatened to kill her.

After the girl narrated the incident to her parents, she was taken to a hospital where doctors confirmed the rape.

The accused has been identified as Bachitter Singh of Karyal.

Police sub-inspector Prabhjot Kaur said the accused had been arrested on Wednesday night.
