Manipur: Two militants killed in gun fight between NSCN-IM and ZUF

Guwahati, Sept 2 (IBNS): Two militants were killed in a fierce gun fight between NSCN-IM and Manipur outfit group Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) in Manipur’s Tamenglong district on Saturday evening.

According to the reports, the gun battle took place at Lungreng (Nungneng) village under Khoupum police station.

The gun battle started around 2 pm on Sept 1 at Don Bosco school complex when the villagers were celebrating 'Thanks giving day for the new rice harvest'.

Among the two deceased militants of ZUF, one militant was identified as Gailuanpou  from Azuram village.

Security forces rushed to the area following the gun fight between the two militant groups and launched an operation to nab them.
