Manmohan Singh turns 86, Narendra Modi wish him

New Delhi, Sept 26 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday wished ex-PM Manmohan Singh on his birthday.

Singh, who hasd served India from 2004 to 2014, turned 86.

Modi tweeted: "Greetings to our former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji on his birthday. I pray for Dr. Singh’s long life and good health."

Modi had led his Bharatiya Janata Party to script a major victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and formed the government at the Centre.

Modi replaced Singh as the PM of the country.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi also greeted the former PM on his bithday and tweeted: "Manmohan Singh Ji’s birthday is an opportunity for us to appreciate and remember his many years of selfless service and dedication to the cause of nation building. I wish him a very Happy Birthday and good health and happiness always."
