Kolkata, Aug 17 (IBNS): Police on Wednesday recovered the body of a nearly 25-year-old man from Hastings area under Maidan Police Station limits in Kolkata, officials said.

According to reports, locals found the body, kept inside a drum in the morning and called in the police.

Body of the unidentified man has been sent for post-mortem.

"We are suspecting that it's a murder case, as several injury marks were found on his body, and his body might be dropped from Vidyasagar Setu's Hastings ramp," a senior official of Kolkata Police told IBNS.

"We found a tattoo on the unidentified body's hand, where it was written- Rana, and we are trying to identify him, basing on this tattoo," he further said.

However, police have started investigation into the matter, while no arrest has been made so far.
