Raipur, May 11 (IBNS) : Maoists and BSF personnel were engaged in an encounter in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Kanker district on Thursday morning, media reports said.

However, no casualty or injury was reported from either side.

According to reports, the  encounter took place  when a team of the 171st battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) was out on a road security operation in Bande police station area and came under attack by the underground ultras.

However, the Maoists  soon escaped in the forest.

This comes two weeks after 25 CRPF personnel were killed in an attack in Sukma in Chhatisgarh.
