Martyrs Day: PM Narendra Modi remembers Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary

New Delhi, Jan 30 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday remembered Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary.

Modi said the nation will follow the path shown by him and abide by the values he stood for. 

Modi tweeted: "Remembering Bapu on his Punya Tithi. We reiterate our commitment to follow the path shown by him and abide by the values he stood for." (Embed)

Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, was assassinated on Jan 30, 1948, by Nathuram Godse.

The day is not only observed as the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi but also as Martyr's Day.
