Lucknow/UNI: Coming out in support of Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati hit out at the BJP ruled states for harassing poor, Dalits , tribals and Muslims in the country, it was reported here on Thursday.

In a series of tweets on Thursday morning, Mayawati wrote, " In UP and other BJP ruled states, like the Congress earlier, the way the poor, Dalits, tribals and Muslims are being harassed by making them victims of atrocities and fear etc speaks of a very sad situation. Whereas their kindness continues in the affairs of others."

She further wrote, " In this sequence, the matter of continuous hate filled action by the UP government against its opponents and keeping senior MLA Mohammad Azam Khan in jail for about two and a half years is in the news, which in the eyes of the people is a travesty of justice and nothing else?"

The BSP president said, "At the same time, the way the BJP government is targeting migrants and working people by instilling fear and terror in their hearts in the name of encroachment, by adopting a malicious attitude, in many states of the country, and snatching their livelihood raises many questions".
