Medical shop sealed for selling banned drugs in Jammu's RS Pura

Jammu, May 15 (UNI) Acting tough against drug menace, police on Wednesday sealed a medical shop for illegally selling banned drugs in R S Pura village here on city outskirts.

"In continuation to the drive against menace of drug, one more medical pharmacy closed in R S Pura," police spokesman here said.

He said that there was complaint against one Ravinder Kumar alias Ladi who is running a medical shop situated near Gandhi Park, R S Pura is indulged in illegal selling of drugs and psychotropic substances to the young generation of the area on exorbitant rates for pecuniary advantage.

A case was registered against him and challan was produced before the Court.
"Recently the accused was also booked under preventive measure 110 Cr.PC and produced before the EMIC, where it was ordered to lodge him in Jail for 10 days," he added.

The spokesman said that the matter was taken up with Deputy Controller, Drug and Food Control Organization, Muthi, Jammu by the SDPO R S Pura, Dy.SP, Sourabh Prashar.

"Based on the recommendations of SHO R S Pura, the Deputy Controller, Drug and Food Control Organization, Jammu issued closing order of above said Medical shop till further order," he added.

The order was issued by the Deputy Controller and was executed by the police
