Meira Kumar: Congress targets Sushma Swaraj, posts counter video

New Delhi, June 26 (IBNS): Posting a counter video, the Congress on Monday attacked External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for recently targeting former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar.

Sushma Swaraj on Sunday made a veiled attack on opposition's Presidential candidate Meira Kumar by posting  an old video footage from the floor of the Parliament on social media.

The video showed Sushma Swaraj attacking the UPA government over corruption charges while the Speaker is seen interrupting her.

Sharing the video, Sushma tweeted: "This is how Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar treated the Leader of Opposition."

The Congress countered by posting another video from the floors of the house where Sushma Swaraj is seen praising Kumar.

The party tweeted: "Sushmaji taking you down memory lane-Watch @SushmaSwaraj praise Lok Sabha Speaker Smt #MeiraKumar in her farewell speech."

The Congress further said: "Petty politics has transformed @SushmaSwaraj. Her attack against Smt #MeiraKumar contradicts her own words in LS!"

Kumar has been selected as the opposition's Presidential candidate.

The BJP-led NDA had earlier named Ram Nath Kovind as its presidential candidate.
