New Delhi, July 7 (IBNS):  Mumbai Congress chief Milind Deora has resigned from his position, media reports said on Sunday.

According to media reports, he is planning to move to Delhi for a national role in the Congress.

Milind Deora resigned from the position just days after Rahul Gandhi quit as the Congress president.

He also shared the resignation letter on his Twitter page recently.

Rahul, who became the Congress president in 2017, took responsibility for his party's defeat in the Lok Sabha polls and said he would continue to fight the ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In the Lok Sabha polls, the BJP once again defeated the Congress to form the central government for the second consecutive term.
