Militants, security forces engage in gunbattle in J&K's Pulwama

Srinagar/IBNS/UNI: An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, police said.

They said the encounter took place during a cordon and a search operation that was launched in Arihal village of Pulwama following an input about militant presence.

"Contact has been established with the terrorists. The gunfight is going on,” he said.

Kashmir Zone Police, in a social media post, said, "The encounter started in Arihal village of District Pulwama. Police and security forces are on job. Further details shall follow."
