Mizoram is set to witness a change in the political paradigm as the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), an alliance of six regional parties, is leading the assembly polls results, beating the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) as the counting of votes in the East Indian state is currently underway on Monday.

As per the latest update at around 2.13 pm, ZPM is marching ahead in 27 seats.

The MNF is leading in 10 seats.

The Bharatiya Janata Party is winning two seats and the Congress is taking one seat in its bag.

Chief Minister Zoramthanga lost the  Aizawl East-1 seat.

He was defeated by ZPM's Lalthansanga.

In the Tuichang seat, ZPM candidate W Chhuanawma defeated Deputy chief minister Tawnluia.

ZPM, formed in 2017, faced the Mizoram assembly elections in 2018, getting eight seats, of which six were from Aizawl city constituencies.
