New Delhi, Mar 17(IBNS) Expressing deep concern over the rape of a septuagenarian nun in West Bengal and an attack on a church in Haryana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought immediate reports on the incidents.

"PM is deeply concerned about the incidents in Hisar, Haryana and Nadia, West Bengal," the Prime Minister's Office tweeted on Tuesay.

"PMO has asked for immediate report on facts & action taken regarding the incidents in Haryana & West Bengal," the tweet said.

A 72-year-old nun was y gangraped by robbers  at Gangnapur in Nadia district  after they broke into a convent on early Sunday and took away Rs. 12 lakh and other valuables.

The incident has triggered huge uproar across the country and indignation of the Christian community as well as people of other faiths.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who went for a visit to the spot on Monday, faced the people's ire. A mob barred the way of Banerjee's vehicle and detained her for more than an hour demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.
