Modi to hold talks with Shinzo Abe in Tokyo today
The duo is expected to discuss cooperation in the defence sector, civil nuclear and infrastructure development in the presence of Japanese Finance, Trade, Defence and Infrastructure ministers.
"The 21st century is Asia’s century, the world has accepted it. Now the question is how will it be? There are two ways - one of 'Vistarvaad' (expansionism) and the other of 'Vikasvaad' (development). ‘Vikasvaaad' is the way ahead” Modi told business leaders ahead of the talks.
According to reports, the two countries are likely to agree upon a "two-plus-two" security consultative framework involving their foreign and defence ministers. Sources said that Indian and Japanese negotiators worked till late on Sunday night to work out details of a civil nuclear deal. Both the nations are also likely to ink a deal on joint production of rare earth materials.
Modi arrived in Tokyo on Sunday night after a two-day stay in Kyoto.
