Mother-son duo killed in Punjab road mishap

Hoshiarpur/UNI: A woman along with his 5-year-old son and car driver died in an accident near Jhingar Kalan (Dasuya) about 44 Kms from here, police said here on Wednesday.

According to police, Surinder Pal (37), hailing from Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, along with his family was on their way to a hospital at Jalandhar for checkup of his son Divansh, in a car on Tuesday night.

When they reached near village Jhingar Kalan, the driver lost control of the vehicle and the car hit a parapet of a small bridge and later rolled down to an 8-feet deep pit. All the occupants of the car were injured and rushed to Civil Hospital Dasuya, where Suman (33) succumbed to her injuries.

Car driver Pankaj, son of Amar Singh of Chamba and Divansh were referred to a Jalandhar hospital where the latter also succumbed to their injuries.

Dasuya Police is investigating the case.
