Kolkata, Sep 18 (IBNS): After being interrogated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for nearly 6 hours on Monday, West Bengal Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Minister Firhad Bobby Hakim claimed that he is a victim of a major political conspiracy.

"I never did any unethical job in my life and won't do in future. I'm a victim of a larger political conspiracy," Firhad Hakim told reporters while leaving CBI's office after interrogation.

"I believe in the law, the court and the investigating agencies. One day it will be proved that I was not involved in the case," Hakim added.

After being summoned, the senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader reached CBI office in south Kolkata's Nizam Palace on Monday at around 10 am. and he was quizzed for nearly six hours.

According to CBI sources, his statement was recorded.

Earlier in August, Bobby Hakim was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the same case.

Since Mar 14 last year, news portal- Narada News- released several sting operation footage, where TMC's leaders, ministers, MPs and MLAs were allegedly seen accepting bribes.

After getting direction from the Calcutta High Court and Supreme Court, the CBI has started a probe into the case.

On Apr 17, the investigation agency registered an FIR in connection with the case under several non-bailable sections against 12 influential leaders, cabinet ministers, MLAs and MPs of TMC and one senior IPS officer, who were seen allegedly taking bribes in the sting footage, reports said.

Besides CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), has registered a money laundering case in the Narada sting and currently investigating the case.
