Narendra Modi as terrible as Muhammad bin Tughlaq: Mamata
Nimtouri, Apr 28 (UNI) Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is as "terrible as Muhammad bin Tughlaq", West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee on Sunday asked the people to vote him out of power.
Addressing a public meeting here in Purba Medinipur district, Mamata said: "Modi twists everything and does things of his own accord, without asking anyone for advice. Just like Muhammad bin Tughlaq."
"The Prime Minister constantly criticises me, but what has he himself done?"
The TMC supremo alleged in the name of Achhe Din, 12,000 farmers committed suicide in the Modi regime.
"Jobs were lost. He carried out demonetisation resulting in a mess," she said. "The BJP organises processions with swords, killing people, committing atrocities on the people."
"What has he done in the last five years, except touring the world?" she questioned. "Hardly any media outlet shows news against Modi – because at the slightest hint of criticism, Modi’s people call the channel and gets the reporter sacked."
“I fully endorse the view that the BJP is spending a few crores for every meeting. But this is illegal. We have asked the Election Commission to investigate and stop these,” the TMC supremo said.
Mamata said: "He has spent so much money just during the filing of his candidature. His candidature should be cancelled."
"Modi comes here and tell people that we don’t allow Durga Puja here. But is it correct? No. he is a liar. Why did the BJP move the court against our decision to give funds to Durga Puja committees?" The chief minister asked.
“I have seen many prime ministers over the years but none like Modi – such atrocious talk and actions he indulges in. People are simply scared seeing him,” Mamata said.
“Modi, you have scared everyone across the country into submission, but Trinamool will never compromise. We will bell the cat,” she added.
