Narendra Modi government extends ban on Gurpatwant Singh Pannun's outfit Sikhs for Justice for another five years

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday extended its ban imposed on pro-Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun's outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) by another five years.

The outfit was banned for the first time in 2019.

In a notification, the home ministry said as quoted by Hindustan Times that SFJ has been indulging in activities “prejudicial to the internal security of India and public order”.

The ministry added that SFJ's activities have the “potential of disrupting peace, unity and integrity of the country.”

India designated  Pannun as a terrorist in 2020.

He is one of the founders of SHF.

SFJ is an outfit which actively lobbies for the creation of Khalistan, a separate state for Sikhs.
