Ahmedabad, Oct 31 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday will unveil the 182m-tall statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in  Narmada district of Gujarat.

The unveiling will be made on the birth anniversary of the Indian leader.

The foundation of the statue was laid in 2013.

Modi was serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat at that time.

Under his leadership, Bharatiya Janata Party won the Lok Sabha polls in 2014 to come to power.

Modi was elected as the PM of the nation following the victory in the polls.

Known as the Statue of Unity, this will be the tallest statue in the world.

Modi tweeted: "Tomorrow, on the Jayanti of Sardar Patel, the 'Statue of Unity' will be dedicated to the nation. The statue, which is on the banks of the Narmada is a fitting tribute to the great Sardar Patel."
