New Delhi/UNI: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday got 15 days custody of dismissed cop of Jammu and Kashmir Police Davinder Singh, Syed Naveed Mushtaq Shah, Irfan Shafi Mir, Rafi Ahmad Rather and Syed Irfan Ahmad.

Davinder Singh, a DSP of J&K Police, was arrested on January 11 while transporting two Hizbul Mujahidin terrorists to Chandigarh by the local police.

The federal terror probe agency took over the case on January 16 after getting instruction from the Union Home Ministry. During custodial interrogation, the agency will try to extract the real intentions of Singh for ferrying the militants ahead of Republic Day.

Singh has been grilled by a joint team of J&K police, NIA, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Intelligence Bureau.

On January 11, J&K cop intercepted a car at Mir Bazar before Jawahar tunnel in Jukham district and found that Singh was traveling to Jammu with two top Hizbul militants Naveed Babu and Asif Ahmad.

The J&K police was keeping eye on the movements of the terrorists and so it came to know about the dismissed DSP Davinder Singh.

All were arrested and a case was lodged at Qazigund police station in Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir.
