Kolkata, Mar 25 (IBNS): A class nine student and national level volleyball player was stabbed to death on Friday afternoon at Notunpukur in Barasat in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, reports said.

According to reports, when the 15-year-old girl, identified as Sanhita Aich aka Tina, was practicing inside a volleyball coaching camp, a youth suddenly entered and murdered her.

The killer youth, who has been identified as Subrata Singha was a co-player of Sangita. Locals claimed that the youth committed the murder possibly after receiving negative answer to his proposal from Sangita.

The accused, however, is absconding since the incident. Police have started investigation into the matter and are searching for the youth.
