Mumbai/IBNS: A team of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which has been investigating use and supply of drugs in the Mumbai film industry, was attacked on Sunday when it went to raid the property of an alleged drug supplier in Mumbai's Goregaon, said media reports.

At least 50-60 people attacked the NCB team during the raid and injured two members of the team of five officials led by Zonal Director of the anti-drugs agency, Sameer Wankhede, said an NDTV report.

The team intercepted one Carry Mendes, a 20-year-old drug peddler, and recovered LSD, a banned substance, from him.

The report said the raid was conducted based on a specific tip off. When the NCB sleuths tried to arrest the alleged drug peddler, they were attacked by a mob. Wankhede sustained minor injuries in the scuffle said the report.

A team from nearby Goregaon Police Station reached the spot and dealt with the mob, informed the report adding that three people were arrested for attacking public servants and preventing them from discharging their duties.

A case in this connection has been registered in the police station and the matter is being investigated, police confirmed, stated the report.
