Next Assembly poll will be fought between Congress and TRS: Rahul Gandhi
Hyderabad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday asserted that the battle in the next Assembly elections in Telangana will be between the Congress and the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
Addressing the party leaders at Gandhi Bhavan, the TPCC headquarters here, Rahul said that money and police force were behind Chief Minister TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao not the people.
He appealed to the party leaders to fight to convert Telangana into an ideal state adding that the Congress would not form an autocratic government but one which worked for the people's cause.
Rahul said that the party tickets to the aspirants would be given based on merit but not to those who did not work for the party's cause however senior they might be and added that tickets would not also be given to those who sit in Gandhi Bhavan and make rounds to Delhi.
He asked the party leaders to leave Gandhi Bhavan and go to villages and work for farmers and people's cause.
Referring to differences among partymen, he said there was bound to be differences between the family members but they should be sorted out within the four walls and asked the party leaders not to speak about them before the media.
Rahul asked the Congress leaders to give wide publicity on “Warangal Declaration” at the gross root level.
He asked the congress leaders to visit each and every village during the next one month and explain the details of the “Warangal Declaration”.
“This is not only a party declaration but also guarantee of Congress party,” Rahul said. He made it clear that there was no alliance with other parties.
