| @indiablooms | Dec 27, 2021, at 03:29 am

Delhi/IBNS: A night curfew will be imposed starting Monday in Delhi from 10 pm to 5 am to curb the rising cases of Covid-19 as the national capital recorded 290 fresh cases -- a 16 percent jump in infections from yesterday.

The case positivity rate has jumped to 0.5 percent, a critical level, according to the official health bulletin.

Under the Delhi government's four-stage Graded response Action Plan (GRAP), the yellow alert will come into force if the positivity rate settles at 0.5 percent for two consecutive days, triggering to a number of additional curbs, according to an NDTV report.

The GRAP was approved by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority in July in anticipation of a third wave of Covid and aims to bring in imposition and lifting of restrictions depending on the situation, the report said.

Shops and malls selling non-essential goods and services will be restrained and open from 10 am to 8 pm under the odd-even rule.

Restaurants will be allowed to operate work at 50% capacity from 8 am to 10 pm, and bars will open from 12 noon to 10 pm at 50 percent capacity.

Cinema halls and multiplexes, banquet halls and auditoriums will once again shut down. However, hotels will remain open.

Spas, gyms, yoga institutes, and entertainment parks will be shut down.

Sports complexes, stadiums, and swimming pools will be closed. But there will be no prohibition in organising national or international sporting events.

People will be allowed to visit public parks.

Under the yellow alert, salons and beauty parlours will be allowed to operate while maintaining Covid-19 protocols.

The Delhi Metro will run at 50 percent seating capacity and no passengers will be allowed to stand inside the compartments.

Only 20 people will be allowed to attend weddings and funeral.

The ban on ban on social, political, religious, festival, and entertainment-related activities will continue.

Religious places will remain open but the entry of devotees will be restricted.

Schools, colleges, educational institutions, and coaching institutes will close again.

Private offices will be allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity from 9 am to 5 pm.

Delhi has so far reported 14,43,352 cases of coronavirus with 25,105 related deaths.

The number of active cases stands at 1,103, of which 583 patients are in home isolation.
