Pune, Jul 29 (IBNS): Nine people are feared dead and several injured in a building collapse in Pune on Friday morning, according to media reports.

They were likely construction workers who were caught unawares as the top of the 13-storey building crashed down.

NDTV quoted Pune Mayor Prashant Jagtap saying, "We have taken his incident very seriously. We shall order an inspection of all such construction sites now to ascertain whether they are employing adequate safety measures of the workers."

Rescue workers are checking through the rubble to see if anyone is trapped underneath, according to local reports.
