No decision on cabinet reshuffle yet: Goa CM Pramod Sawant

Panaji/UNI: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant Tuesday said a decision on a cabinet reshuffle is yet to be taken amid speculation after a large group of Congress MLAs joined the BJP last week.

"No decision has been taken yet on it," Sawant told reporters at the Goa International Airport in Dabolim, South Goa, after returning from New Delhi.

He, along with seven newly-inducted BJP MLAs, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party National President J P Nadda, among others in the national capital.

He said during his visit he discussed with the national leaders about next Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024.

With eight Congress MLAs joining the ruling party, it is being speculated that Sawant may go for a cabinet reshuffle.

After the induction of the Congress MLAs, the Chief Minister had met Governor P S Shreedharan Pillai at Raj Bhavan near the city.

However, when asked about the motive of the meeting, he had said that it was to discuss the programmes to be held on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday.
