New Delhi: Contradicting the proposal of the Centre, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-affiliated organisation stated there is no need for the inclusion of sex education in curriculum, media reports said.

However, he has suggested counselling for students and parents.

Strongly objecting to the word 'sex', Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (SSUN) secretary Atul Kothari said as quoted by Times Now, "There is no need for teaching sex education in schools or making it a part of curriculum. If required, counselling can be provided for a student in schools."

Kothari said students in schools should be taught about "human body, its structures and parts" as it is done through science subject.

The National Education Policy Draft, which has been submitted to Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank in May 2019, stated the inclusion of sex education in secondary schools.
