Srinagar, Nov 12 (IBNS) Claiming that the militancy related activities have reduced to great extent in Kashmir, Hurriyat Chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq on Thursday said no steps have been taken to reduce the footprint of troopers so far from the state.

He cautioned the government against probable ‘people movement’ in case the policy of ‘revenge’ adopted against people was not put to an end.

“All the stakeholders including pro-freedom leadership, academicians, lawyers, civil society activists, students are invited for a meeting scheduled on November 18 aimed at to chalk out a disciplined stratagem to tackle the oppressive approach adopted by the incumbent Indian government in Jammu and Kashmir,” Mirwaiz told correspondents during a press conference at his residence.

Mirwaiz claimed that the state has been converted into a police state wherein police and army are ruling the roost.

He said that the government has adopted a policy of revenge against people particularly against old city populace who have been caged and deprived of essential commodities.

“All the issues confronting people of Kashmir will be thoroughly discussed in the meeting, people have a great role to play. We don’t want to create any law and order problem or interested in taking law in our hands but if we won’t be allowed we will be forced to come on the roads,” he said.

Mirwaiz claimed that the state has been converted into a police state wherein police and army are ruling the roost.
