Over 13.47 lakh scholarship for the wards of serving J&K police personnel

Srinagar/IBNS: Meritorious scholarships of over 13.47 lakh was sanctioned for 202 wards of serving police personnel in Jammu and Kashmir.

A police spokesman said under the initiative of police headquarters to provide financial assistance to the wards of police personnel excelling in academics, the  Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarship in favour of 202 wards of serving police personnel vide order of PHQ.

Under this order, Singh sanctioned scholarships for police personnel wards who secured 80 per cent and above marks in the class 12 annual examination in the academic session 2020-21 out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.

Rs 6,000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 113 students who have secured more than 90 per cent marks while eighty-five students who have secured 80 per cent and above marks have been given Rs 6,000 each.

During the current year, over rupees of Rs 1.21 crore have been sanctioned in favour of 2,120 wards of police personnel for 2020-2021 academic year.
