New Delhi/UNI: Congress' Media and Publicity Department chairman Pawan Khera was deplaned from an aircraft at Delhi airport here on Thursday, the party claimed.

Khera, who along with other senior Congress leaders of the party, boarded the flight for Raipur to attend the party's 85th Plenary Session was asked to deboard, a party spokesperson claimed.

"We are all on the IndiGo6E flight 6E 204 to Raipur and all of a sudden my colleague Pawan Khera has been asked to deplane.

"What sort of high handedness is this? Is there any rule of law? On what grounds is this being done and under whose order?" Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate tweeted.

All the leaders and senior leaders of the Congress also deboarded and staged protests. They shouted slogans against the BJP government.

"I was told there is a problem with my luggage, even though I have one handbag. When I came down from the flight, I was told I cannot go. I don't know why I am being stopped," Khera claimed.

Informing the same, Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala said, "Police came and said Assam Police has registered an FIR. Neither they are telling about the case nor about the FIR."

Senior Congress leader and MP, KC Venugopal who was also present, in a tweet wrote, "Modi govt is acting like a bunch of goons by deplaning Pawan Khera ji from the Delhi-Raipur flight and preventing him from joining the AICC Plenary. "

"Using a flimsy FIR to restrict his movement and silence him is a shameful, unacceptable act. The entire party stands with Pawan ji," he said.

Meanwhile, sources claimed police took Khera with them.
