New Delhi, Jan 16 (IBNS): Come February, and you will need to pay to get your checked-in bags scanned at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here.

According to a report in The Times of India, once the rule comes into force, fliers will have to be up to Rs 5 for domestic flights and up to Rs 50 for international flights out of this airport.

The airport will charge Rs 110 to Rs 880 bag x-ray charge from airlines in the domestic sector and from $149.33 to $209.55 in the international sector. The airlines will pass on the charge to passengers.

This is the second new hike in charges at the airport since December 1, 2018, the report said.

Passengers flying out of Indira Gandhi International Airport now pay Rs 77 as passenger service fee plus taxes.
