PM Modi congratulates in Assam over Assembly polls result

New Delhi, May 19 (IBNS): As the Bhratiya Janata Party is gearing up to form the government in Assam by removing the Congress from power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday wished party leaders in the state for the result in the Assembly polls.

Modi said the BJP will do everything to fulfil dreams and aspirations of the people of Assam.

He called the victory in Assam as 'historic'.

"Heartiest congratulations to Assam BJP Karyakartas & leaders for the exceptional win. This win is historic by all standards. Phenomenal!" Modi tweeted.

He said, "I spoke to @sarbanandsonwal & congratulated him for the performance of the party & the efforts through the campaign. @bjpassampradesh."

Modi said: "BJP will do everything possible to fulfil dreams & aspirations of the people of Assam & take the state’s development journey to new heights."

He said people are putting their faith on the BJP across the nation.

"Across India, people are placing their faith in BJP & see it as the party that can usher in all-round & inclusive development. @BJP4India," he said.

He said:"I thank the people of Assam, WB, TN, Puducherry & Kerala for their support & assure them we will always work hard & serve them."

In Assam, the BJP is currently leading in 78 seats while the Congress is ahead in 29 seats,
