PM Modi congratulates Vijay Rupani after he takes oath as Gujarat CM

New Delhi/Gandhinagar, Aug 7 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated Vijay Rupani after he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in a grand ceremony here in Gandhinagar.


"Congrats to @vijayrupanibjp, Nitinbhai Patel & others sworn-in as they begin their innings to continue the development journey of Gujarat," Modi tweeted.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by BJP bigwigs Arun Jaitley, Amit Shah and LK Advani.

Rupani replaces Anandiben Patel. She resigned from the post recently.

Meanwhile, Nitin Patel was sworn in as Rupani's deputy.

Besides them, 23 others took the oath for portfolios in the state cabinet at a ceremony held in Gandhinagar.
